Production of a series about a new breed of conservative activist almost lured CNN reporter Abbie Boudreau into a sexual trap set by right wing video punk James O’Keefe. O’Keefe, who made a name for himself for a destructive portrayal of ACORN, a liberal voter advocacy team under false pretenses, hoped to damage the authority of Boudreau’s news series by … wait for it … attempting an Austin Powers-like attraction and distributing it on video. One of O’Keefe’s co-conspirators had a change of heart and warned Boudreau of the ruse.
Abbie Boudreau does not end up seduced by O’Keefe
Abbie Boudreau, as reported by CNN, is an award-winning investigative journalist who had been profiling a group of young right wing video producers. A video clip shoot with O’Keefe in it was something Boudreau was excited to look at. O’Keefe’s permission was something the director told Boudreau she’d have to ask for herself. Sensing opportunity, O’Keefe, who calls his video ambush operation “Project Veritas,” persuaded Boudreau to meet him in person, alone. He set up a room that had condoms, sex toys and champagne in it that was also being recorded secretly. He was preparing to lure her there somehow. O’Keefe was just a little bit conceded when he assumed Boudreau would be enticed. He thought he’d have no problem. He wanted to capture the tryst on camera in hopes of a viral video. He may have ruined his personal career in the process instead of hurting Boudreau’s like he had prepared.
A picture of O’Keefe’s self-delusion
O’Keefe’s’ plot was thwarted by one of his own, executive director of Project Veritas, Izzy Santa. Santa intercepted Boudreau when she arrived and warned her; naturally, Boudreau did not get on the boat. O’Keefe is being made fun of for his plan already. It is something the media is enjoying. Jon Healy at the Los Angeles Times said O’Keefe’s latest effort to embarrass alleged liberals with a hidden camera was “beyond brain dead.”. Healy wrote that O’Keefe must get his romantic advice from Smoove B, and rather than attraction, sexual harassment on camera was more accurate. CNN got hold of a script that incorporated O’Keefe saying “So, I’m going to manipulate her, on camera, to use her for a video clip. This bubble-headed bleach-blonde who comes on at five will get a taste of her own medicine; she’ll get seduced on camera and you’ll get to see the awkwardness and the aftermath.”
