There will be no Katy Perry Sesame Street

There won’t be the Katy Perry “Sesame Street” episode airing anymore. “Sesame Street” is popular as a children’s show and known for the appearances of famous stars all the time. The performer gets to sing a duet on the show. The duet is with Elmo. Some moms and dads were upset with the clothing choice that Perry wore in her duet singing “Hot and Cold” with Elmo. The sketch was pulled after mothers and fathers wrote angry emails and letters because of the released video on YouTube.

Perry is a guest star on ‘Sesame Street’

“Sesame Street” and other Jim Henson productions have always featured appearances by celebrities of the day. In the last year, Katy Perry has had hits get lots of radio and music video on Television airtime because she is so popular at the moment. Having Katy Perry on “Sesame Street” just makes sense. The producers of the show filmed a segment where she sings a version of her song “Hot and Cold” with Elmo. Mothers and fathers weren’t mad as a result of the song as it was altered to be kid friendly.

Mothers and fathers won’t say ‘yes’ to the clothing choice

The clip of Perry singing with Elmo, one of one of the most well-liked characters on the show, was leaked out onto video site YouTube. Viewers thought the clip was inappropriate for kids and wrote e-mails and letters immediately. The segment of singing with Katy Perry is acceptable, reports MSNBC. The cleavage shown in Perry’s wardrobe is what parents are upset about.

Stopping the segment from airing

Concerned parents showed outrage in their emails and letters. This led the producers to dropping the segment entirely. The clip is still available on YouTube, and neither Perry nor her comedian fiancé Russel Brand have had anything to say as yet.
